He held the Ph.D. degree in Medical Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Bordeaux in 2005. He has held the appointment as Associate Professor by the State Professorship Title Council, Vietnam since 2015.
Dr. Nguyen The Dung, with over twenty years of experience at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases of Ho Chi Minh City, served as its Vice-Director since 2000 and then as Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Health Department from 2002 to 2007. He was also the Chief of the Infectious Diseases Department at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and currently holds the position of Chief of Infectious Diseases Department and Chief of Microbiology-Parasitology Department at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City - School of Medicine. Additionally, he is the Vice-President of the Vietnam Health Economics Association. Throughout his career, Dr. Dung has made significant contributions to hospital administration, healthcare management, and healthcare strategy and policy in Vietnam, and he has initiated various collaborations and educational programs with numerous foreign universities.
