Health literacy is centered on mutual understanding, occurring when there is clear comprehension between patients (or caregivers, the public, or anyone receiving health communication) and providers (clinicians, public health specialists, organizations, and others providing this communication). Achieving health literacy can be challenging. Helen Osborne steps in to address this challenge by raising awareness about health literacy, teaching effective strategies to aid in this process, and sharing impactful stories about its importance. In addition to these roles, Helen also contributes as a plain language writer and editor for a variety of health materials, further facilitating clearer communication in healthcare.
