Professor Peter Chang, who received his Doctorate in Medicine in 1984 from the National Yangming University, furthered his education at Harvard University, earning a Master of Public Health with a major in occupational and environmental health in 1988 and a Doctor of Sciences in radiation biology from the Department of Cancer Biology in 1992. In 2015, he established the Asian Health Literacy Association (AHLA) and received the global health literacy award in 2016 by the IHA in the USA, followed by the global health literacy leadership award in 2023 by the AHLA in Thailand. Chang has played significant roles in these organizations, serving as President of the AHLA since 2019 and Vice President of the IHLA since its inception in 2016. He assumed the position of Honorary President of the AHLA in 2023. Additionally, he was appointed the fifth session Cabinet-level Ombudsman in Taiwan from 2018 to 2020 and served as the vice president of Shing Mark Hospital in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, in 2021. Chang’s contributions continued as he developed health corporations in Vietnam and founded the Taiwan Vietnam Medical and Biotech Association (TVMB) in April 2022, where he serves as President.
